GIVE ME A REASON TO GIVE!
Here at Evo Technologies we love to give. You could say that it’s almost like a hobby for us. We are always on the lookout for a place to make our next charitable contribution. Some of the causes we have supported over the years are public radio and broadcasting, The SPCA, disabled veterans, families in need, hurricane victims, earthquake, flood and forest fire relief, high school fund raisers, good old cancer research and pretty much everything in-between. The list goes on, but there is an organization that we would like to highlight – All Good Work. All Good Work stands out for us because they have managed to leverage our own industry to help others.
All Good Work is a collaboration of like-minded people and their aligned organizations. They collectively have combined to develop a program that is simple but tremendously impactful, by creating a better avenue for workspaces to offer their unused space to deserving organizations that could use a boost.
Once an organization is vetted and welcomed into the program, the power of coworking can take over.
Business centers, executive suites, coworking spaces, call them what you will, but they are all filled to the rafters with every type of business and entrepreneur that you can imagine. Law firms, accountants, marketing professionals, telecom, you name it – every facet of business resides in our industry and creates a pool of talent that can further drive the good causes for the candidates that All Good Work is able to bring on board.
Regardless of whether you support All Good Work directly, indirectly or not at all, here are four good reasons to do some “Good Work” of your own:
- Research conducted by the National Institute of Health has reported that participants in a study on giving enjoyed stimulation of pleasure centers in the brain. That’s right folks, it literally feels good to give.
- Lead by example. Whether they are our children, our colleagues or friends, we are all mentors to someone to some degree. Be an example for giving that others can follow.
- Who wants a tax deduction? If you are nice enough to give, get some back from the government at tax time. Almost anything from clothing to old cars can be donated and deducted.
- Helping others who are in need! When we are done letting our brains feel good and have been patted on the back by our kids and coworkers and after we take that tax write off, at the end of the day, we may have actually helped someone.
Who, where and when you help is irrelevant, the point is, we are a community and we should all do our part to help those who are in need when and where we can. I hope you will join Evo Technologies and All Good Work in our efforts to do “Good Work” for our community through the coworking industry.
