Has a Port-In Request Been Made? What’s Needed to Process It?
To determine if a port-in request has already been made and what is required to proceed, here’s how it typically works:
1. Request Status
-
✅ If a port-in request has already been submitted:
The request for porting your number(s) has been received and is currently in progress. This means it is either:
-
Pending internal submission,
-
Submitted to the carrier and under review, or
-
Awaiting confirmation of the port date.
In these cases, no further action may be needed unless additional documentation is requested by the carrier. You will typically be notified if anything is missing or if there are issues that may delay the process.
-
-
🚫 If no port-in request has been submitted yet:
A port-in request cannot proceed until all required documentation is provided. If you haven't yet submitted these, or you're unsure whether you have, an agent will need to verify your status and assist you further.
2. Required Information to Process a Port-In
If no request has been submitted yet, the following documents and details are needed:
-
Letter of Authorization (LOA): A signed LOA from the authorized account holder.
-
Copy of the Most Recent Phone Bill: Must include the number(s) and account name.
-
List of Numbers to Be Ported: Clearly indicate which numbers are included in the port.
-
Business Name or End-User Name: This should match the details on your current carrier's records.
-
Service Address: The physical address associated with the phone number(s).
-
Preferred Port Date (optional): You can suggest a date, but final confirmation depends on the losing provider.
3. Next Steps
Once we receive all required documents, we will:
-
Submit the request to our carrier (typically within 1 business day).
-
Wait for validation from the current provider.
-
Notify you of the scheduled port date or any rejections/issues.
